AFTER YOU APPLY FOR ADMISSION
Here are the steps to take after you've applied for admission:
Activate your username and password
- Within 1 to 5 days of applying, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application. This email will include your OSU ID and Ohio State username (lastname.#).
- Follow the instructions in the email to set up your Ohio State username (lastname.#). This will give you access to your Applicant Center (http://appstatus.osu.edu) where you can check on the status of your application.
- Activating your Ohio State username is a two-part process:
- Request an activation code: Go to my.osu.edu (http://my.osu.edu) and click "Activate Now." Then click "I need an Activation Code" and follow the prompts to have your activation code emailed to you. (You'll need your Ohio State username, which is located at the top of the email you received immediately after you applied for admission.)
- Activate your identity: Once you receive your activation code, return to my.osu.edu (http://my.osu.edu) and click "Activate Now." Then click "I have an Activation Code" and follow the prompts.

- Use your OSU ID in correspondence with us about your application.
- Within 15 minutes of activating your username, you can log in to the Applicant Center (http://appstatus.osu.edu) .
Check your application status
- Log in to your Applicant Center (http://appstatus.osu.edu) where you can monitor the status of your application. Check regularly to make sure you have no missing materials, outstanding issues or anything left to do.
- In your Applicant Center, you’ll see a tile called "Application Status." Click that to view the status of your application.
- You will also see a tile labeled "To Do List." If there are items missing from your application, they will be listed there. (Please note that it may take several days for received items to be reflected on your status page. Please wait at least 5 days after submitting materials before inquiring.)
- Your admission decision: Once your application is complete, your admission decision will typically post within 4 to 6 weeks (if not sooner!).
- While we will notify you by US mail of the admission decision, the decision will also appear in your Applicant Center (http://appstatus.osu.edu).
submit the FAFSA and complete the scholarship application(s)
- Every student is highly encouraged to file the FAFSA by the priority date of February 15 to be considered for the most financial aid (including scholarships, grants, loans, and Federal Work-Study.)
- Apply for Ohio State ATI competitive scholarships (https://students.cfaes.ohio-state.edu/forms/scholarship-form). You will need your lastname.# to log in. The priority deadline is February 15.
- You can also apply for university-wide scholarships through ScholarshipUniverse (https://osu.scholarshipuniverse.com). You will need your lastname.# to log in. The priority deadline is February 15.

AFTER YOU ARE ADMITTED
You've been admitted to Ohio State ATI! Here are your next steps to becoming a Buckeye:
Enable your BuckeyeMail Email AccounT
- From now on, important business communications from Ohio State – like your housing contract – will be sent to your OSU email address (your BuckeyeMail).
- If you already activated your username and created a password (you may have done this as an applicant in order to check your application status), your next step is to enable your BuckeyeMail account.
- Go to my.osu.edu (http://my.osu.edu) and log in.
- Still need to activate your Ohio State username? Follow these two steps:
- Request an activation code: Go to my.osu.edu (http://my.osu.edu) and click "Activate Now." Then click "I need an Activation Code" and follow the prompts to have your activation code emailed to you. - On the left side of the page, click "Change Email Delivery."
- Select “Deliver my email to BuckeyeMail, the university’s email service” and click "Submit."
- That’s it! Your OSU email address is (your) lastname.#@buckeyemail.osu.edu. Check your email at buckeyemail.osu.edu (http://buckeyemail.osu.edu) routinely!

Check your email regularly
- Once you’ve enabled your BuckeyeMail account, log in at buckeyemail.osu.edu (http://buckeyemail.osu.edu) to receive and send email. (Your email address is [your] lastname.#@buckeyemail.osu.edu.) Be sure to check BuckeyeMail several times a week until school begins, and then daily.

submit the FAFSA and complete the ATI scholarship application, if you haven't already done so

Once you have access to the site, you will see information pertaining to the two-factor authentication with a Start Setup button. Click the "Start Set-Up" button to initiate the process.

pay YOUR ACCEPTANCE FEE
- To pay your nonrefundable $100 acceptance fee, or to decline the offer of admission: Log in to your Applicant Center (http://appstatus.osu.edu) with your Ohio State Username or OSU ID. Click on the "Accept/Decline" tile and follow the prompts. You may then accept the offer of admission and pay the acceptance fee online.
- Note: As a condition of enrollment, all admitted applicants are required to answer a question regarding felony history prior to paying the acceptance fee. For more detailed information about accepting your admission, click here.
- To delay your admission: Contact Undergraduate Admissions before the application deadline for your desired semester to discuss your options.

register for orientation
- Orientation is held prior to the opening of each semester and is required for all students. Orientation information will be shared with you after you are admitted and have paid your acceptance fee for the Ohio State ATI campus. During orientation, you will learn about Ohio State ATI resources, complete any remaining items on your checklist, and schedule a time to meet with your academic advisor to schedule your classes.
- You will receive an email in your BuckeyeMail account (http://buckeyemail.osu.edu) when Orientation registration is available. Log into your Applicant Center (http://appstatus.osu.edu) and click on the Orientation tile for details and to select your orientation date.
- If you are admitted for autumn semester: Your orientation invitation will be emailed to your Ohio State email account after your acceptance fee is paid. Orientation programs are held June through early August.
- If you are admitted for spring semester: Your orientation invitation will be emailed to your Ohio State email account beginning in mid-October (for spring semester admits), after you have paid your acceptance fee.
- Before orientation, you will need to complete required placement testing. Please visit the Orientation web page for information about placement testing.
- Note: before you can register for Orientation, you will need to register for the BuckeyePass service which is powered by Duo Security. For more information visit https://buckeyepass.osu.edu.
apply for campus housing
- First-year students at Ohio State ATI who live more than 25 miles from campus are required to live on campus in our Applewood Village Apartments. Learn more about campus housing here (http://go.osu.edu/regional-housing).
- Submit Your Housing Application: Watch your Ohio State email account for an email with a link to the online housing application. A $50 housing application fee and $300 deposit are required for your housing application to be processed. Housing contracts are processed in the order in which the housing deposits are received.
- Note: before you can access the housing contract, you will will need to register for the BuckeyePass service which is powered by Duo Security. For more information visit https://buckeyepass.osu.edu.
- Questions about the housing contract should be addressed to housing@osu.edu or by calling (614) 292-8266.
NOTE: Students commuting from their home within 25 miles from campus need to complete a notarized housing exemption request form, known as the Parent-Close Relative Exemption form. - Students admitted for autumn semester: Housing information for autumn semester will be emailed to your Ohio State email account starting in mid-March, based on the date of your admission.
- Students admitted for spring semester: Housing information will be emailed to you after you have been admitted but no sooner than two months before the start of the desired term.
receive your financial aid notification
- If you are admitted for autumn semester, your financial aid package will generally be available online by late March. For spring semester, notification is on a rolling basis.
- You will receive an email in your BuckeyeMail account (http://buckeyemail.osu.edu) when your financial aid package is available. Log into your Applicant Center (http://appstatus.osu.edu) and click on the Financial Aid tile for details and to accept your aid.
- Note: Before you can access your financial aid information, you will will need to register for the BuckeyePass service which is powered by Duo Security. For more information visit https://buckeyepass.osu.edu.

- Haven't filed the FAFSA yet? Do so by the priority date of February 15.
Consider Program Excel and Complete the Eligibility Form
- As an Ohio State ATI student, you may be eligible for free academic services, including personal academic coaching, professional tutoring, and special activities through Program Excel, a U.S. Department of Education Trio grant.
- To find out if you qualify, complete the appropriate eligibility form on the Program Excel website.

Submit Your Final High School Transcript and any University Transcripts
- If you have completed courses that would not appear on the transcript your high school and/or college(s) already sent to Ohio State, request that a final transcript be sent to Ohio State as soon as your grades have posted.
- Note: CCP credit cannot be awarded via high school transcript. Official transcripts must be sent directly to Ohio State from each college/university. Have them sent electronically to Ohio State or by email to ugdocs@osu.edu.

UTIlize buckeyelink
- Go to buckeyelink.osu.edu and select the "My Buckeye Link" tab. Log in using your lastname.# and password.
- Here you can check your "to do" list, review your financial aid, select or waive health insurance, see your class schedule once you have registered for classes, and eventually see your statement of account (your bill) and check your grades.

- Complete the university vaccination requirement before the start of your first semester in you live in campus housing. Learn more.
