Hello ATI students,
I hope you and your families are healthy and safe. These are difficult times, and I know you are working hard to persevere in your coursework and other endeavors. It certainly can be overwhelming. There are resources on the https://keeplearning.osu.edu website. It includes learning tools as well as tips for online learning. In addition, it includes some wellness tools. I find the Just Breath app to be really helpful when I feel anxious.
Your digital safety is important as well, and we want to alert you that we have seen increases in phishing and hacking attempts. Please know that we will never ask you to divulge personal information through emails or text. At the same time, we need you to pay close attention to your OSU email and Carmen messages. All communications and updates will be sent to your OSU email address. Your courses are in Carmen, and many are using additional technologies, such as Zoom.
Your classes and services are moved to virtual delivery, and your faculty and staff are committed to high quality in that delivery. They miss the opportunity to have face-to-face time with you, but they are committed to providing you the best instruction, mentoring, advising, and counseling that they can.
For your safety, many Spring events have been cancelled. Following current CDC guidance, gatherings of people are cancelled through May 30. We are developing a virtual student recognition event for our outstanding ATI students. While we will miss seeing you at the banquet, we are hoping this will provide a way for us to recognize your hard work and share that with others. In addition, commencement is postponed. We know how important these events are to you and your supporters. As we have more information about rescheduling, we will get that to you.
We recognize that this is a stressful time. Our university counseling services will continue seeing their current clients and are working on a national database to help you find counselors who will be covered by your insurance provider. Our ATI counselor, Dr. Jacqueline Belanger is available for Zoom meetings. All other service providers in Student Success Services as well as our academic success and transition counselors are available to help you. Even though they are working remotely, you can reach them by email or by calling their university telephone numbers. They will also be able to meet with you by Zoom.
We urge you to keep your books until the semester is over. When you are ready to return your rental books, go to https://osu-ati.bncollege.com/shop/osu-ati/page/rental-book-return for the UPS label to use to ship them back. Be sure to include your name and phone number so that you are credited for the return. If you have questions, there is an email link on the page.
