Meet the ATI Online team!

We have put together an amazing team of the best ATI instructors, as well as those from other departments at The Ohio State University.  We are also partnering with outstanding faculty from other institutions to co-teach the very best and highly applicable courses for you.

Dr. Deana Namuth-Covert lives in Lincoln Nebraska where she has been a faculty member at the University of Nebraska for 15 years. She continues to reside there while being a faculty member at Ohio State and teaching classes at Ohio State ATI. She is recognized as a national leader in plant sciences electronic learning endeavors, particularly in university student instruction and teaching employees of plant breeding companies. In addition to the agronomy classes she is teaching here at Ohio State ATI, she will be developing and directing online learning for the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University.

Kim started her career at Ohio State ATI in Wooster in 1989, when she was hired to create and lead the workforce training and continuing education efforts for the campus. As the Director of Business Training & Educational Services (BTES), Kim is responsible for industry outreach and partnership initiatives which include customized workforce training and education, open enrollment professional development as well as credit and non-credit continuing education offerings. In this role, she also serves as the Ohio Certification Test Administrator for Ohio Landscape Industry Certified Technician Test Partnership.

Amy lives in the country near the town of Harvard, Nebraska. She continues to reside there to remain close to her husband's family's farm while being a staff member at Ohio State ATI. She has four years of experience in instructional design and various teaching roles for plant science, plant breeding, and genetics courses at University of Nebraska. Amy also has experience teaching online professional development courses. Amy works to support development of distance education courses for both the academic credit and professional development audiences. She assists faculty to design content optimized for online delivery, creates content for courses, and assists with day-to-day course operations when needed.

Valerie has over 10 years of teaching experience in online, blended and face-to-face instruction from Columbus State Community College, Central Ohio Technical College and OSU. She has taught courses in basic biology, environmental science, nutrition, statistics, and human anatomy and physiology.  Before entering into her academic career, Valerie worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as an environmental specialist.  Her roles at Ohio State ATI include working with faculty for developing and delivering blended, distance and online courses, exploring and utilizing various online educational tools and software, creating content for courses and collaborating with other departments delivering online content.
