Jill Gallion, information associate for Ohio State ATI’s Office of Academic Affairs, is a recipient of the 2016 Ohio State University Distinguished Staff Award. The Distinguished Staff Award recognizes 12 staff members, who have had five years of continuous service, for exceptional accomplishments, leadership, and service to the university community by significantly improving or enhancing the quality of worklife in ways that make a substantial difference for their colleagues; contributing to outstanding and sustained improvements in customer services; and developing creative solutions to problems that result in significantly more effective and efficient university operations.
Gallion assists students and parents with some of the most stressful issues regarding college – scheduling classes and financial aid. Her role encompasses a vast array of responsibilities and services to our students including but not limited to: adjusting student schedules; maintaining student files; processing academic forms; updating student records; managing student evaluation of instruction; preparing final exam schedules; assisting students with wage referrals and work study; and assisting students with information about their financial aid and student awards.
According to one of her nominators, “Jill is the face of Academic Affairs at Ohio State ATI. When students have questions about their academic progress or are facing difficulty in some aspect of their education, she is calming and caring….Jill lives the university mantra ‘Students first.’"
Gallion and her husband, Doug, live in Creston.
