Turfgrass program brings Ed Nangle, Ph.D., aboard

Ed Nangle has joined the Ohio State ATI faculty as an assistant professor in the turfgrass program. Prior to Ohio State ATI, Nangle served as director of turfgrass programs for the Chicago District Golf Association, where, among other duties, he was responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting turfgrass issues at 392 golf courses and teaching the online Great Lakes Turf School. Nangle also served as the marketing coordinator for the Global Turf Network where he was involved in data analysis, including the development of integrated pest management strategies. He has a wide range of experience gained at golf clubs in Australia, Ireland, and England as well as the U.S.

He's no stranger to Ohio, though, having earned a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, where he taught a number of undergraduate courses in turfgrass and ornamental landscape plants. Nangle has also been a frequent speaker at the Ohio Turfgrass Conference in his area of research: plant health and environmental physiology.
