Timothy P. Smucker, Chairman of the Board of The J.M. Smucker Company, will present the commencement address at Ohio State ATI's 43rd Commencement on Saturday, May 7. Commencement exercises begin at 11 a.m. in Fisher Auditorium on the campus of OARDC.

The J.M. Smucker Company was founded more than a century ago by Mr. Smucker’s great-grandfather, Jerome M. Smucker, and has been honored numerous times on FORTUNE magazine’s annual listing of the 100 Best Companies to Work For, ranking first in 2004.
Mr. Smucker has served on the board of The J.M. Smucker Company since 1973, serves as a director of Hallmark Cards, Inc., The Ohio State University Board of Trustees, The Olayan Group, GS1 (global standards organization), the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), and the Heartland Education Community.
He has also held a variety of board positions in the past, including Grocery Manufacturers of America, Inc., The Consumer Goods Forum, Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc., Huntington BancShares, Inc., Earthgrains Company, Kellogg’s, Gerber Products Company, Ohio Business Roundtable, GS1 US, Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, and the President’s Export Council. He is an emeritus life member of the Board of Trustees for the College of Wooster.
He and his brother, Richard, were recognized by “Market Watch” as CEO’s of the year for 2009.
Mr. Smucker received his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Commerce and Finance and his bachelor’s degree in Economics from The College of Wooster. He served in the Air National Guard from 1969 to 1975; earning the rank of Captain.
He and his wife, Jenny, have three children and six grandchildren.
