Military-connected students follow the same application process as other applicants, but you may have a few extra steps related to military transcripts, prior college credit, and education benefits.
Before you begin, make sure you are using the right application for your academic history.
Looking for a different application?
- First-year student: You are applying directly from high school or have not enrolled in college after graduation
- Transfer student: You have attended a college or university after graduating from high school
NOTE: Air Force veterans and service members should apply as transfer students.
Admission requirements and testing policies depend on your academic history. Application deadlines follow the same timeline as other Ohio State ATI applicants.
How to apply
Submit the Ohio State application and select Ohio State ATI as your campus.
Choose the application type that matches your academic history.
Apply by the published deadlines for the best access to classes and financial aid.
Your application is not complete until Ohio State receives your official academic records.
Send all required high school and college transcripts to Ohio State Undergraduate Admissions in Columbus.

Transcripts sent to Ohio State ATI are not considered official.
Testing requirements depend on your academic history.
Many military-connected applicants who graduated from high school two or more years ago, or who have completed college coursework, do not need to submit ACT or SAT scores.
If scores are required, they must be sent directly from the testing agency.

Application fee and education benefits
A nonrefundable $60 application fee is required when you apply. Eligible students may use an approved fee waiver.
If you plan to apply for financial aid or use education benefits, include your Social Security Number on your application if needed for identity verification.
Military-connected students may qualify for a combination of:
- federal financial aid
- VA education benefits
- state-supported tuition programs
Support is available through:
Military credit
If you are admitted and have military training or coursework, submit your updated military transcript for review.
- Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard: Joint Services Transcript (JST)
- Air Force: Community College of the Air Force (CCAF)
Ohio State reviews military credit using recommendations from the American Council on Education.
