In order to ensure the safety of our students involved in internships, Ohio State ATI is temporarily adjusting the following academic internship policy.  On April 16, 2020, the Ohio State ATI Academic Affairs Committee passed the following motion:
Students in Associate of Applied Science programs and students in Associate of Science programs that have an internship requirement that are graduating through spring semester 2021 have the option to waive the internship requirement as long as they have the minimum 60 credit hours required by the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE).
Contact your academic advisor for more information and complete the form below to petition.
Request to Modify Internship Requirements COVIDSP21

  • Ohio State ATI and the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) are committed to ensuring that student progress to degree completion is not negatively impacted by disruptions related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. At this time, internships are still being allowed.

  • This motion was sent to the CFAES Academic Affairs Committee and the consensus is that the COVID-19 situation should not negatively impact students regarding internship completion.

  • At the time of this posting, if you are comfortable going out on an internship, you may. According to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education Meg Daly, “students in a place/position where work is allowed MAY work, but it can’t be required for students to continue to work (if they want out or are no longer in a position to participate, we should accommodate them).”  However, if OSU policy changes, and internships are not permitted, you will be asked to discontinue the internship.

Ohio State ATI is currently processing student requests electronically.  Please click HERE to access our forms and submission procedures.
