Learning Lab
"Where Students Speak Student." Get free academic support space with peer tutoring at the Learning Lab. We offer a welcoming place to study, ask questions and work through course material. Learning Lab tutors are students supporting students — we’ve been in your classes, understand the pace of the semester, and can help you make sense of material before it starts to pile up.
How the Learning Lab supports you
The Learning Lab supports academic success throughout the semester, not just when things feel urgent. You can stop in to receive free peer tutoring individually or in small groups, ask questions about assignments or course material, study for exams or work through challenging topics with us.
Our space also includes computers and printers, along with a relaxed environment where you can study, take a break or review course material. Many students who perform well academically use the Learning Lab regularly, even when they are not struggling.
How tutoring works
Tutoring in the Learning Lab is collaborative and focused on learning. Peer tutors work with you to explain concepts, talk through problems, and help you develop effective study and organization strategies.
Tutoring supplements your coursework. It does not replace attending class.
You are expected to:
- Attend class regularly
- Participate and complete assignments
- Use tutoring to reinforce and clarify what you are learning
Relying on tutoring while skipping class almost always makes things harder, not easier.
You are encouraged to bring:
- Course materials or assignments
- Specific questions
- Notes or instructions from your instructor
The Learning Lab offers:
- Walk-in assistance during posted hours
- Appointments, when available
- Tutoring requests and scheduling through OnCourse
Requesting tutoring early gives you more time, more options, and more flexibility. Waiting until the last few weeks of the semester limits what tutors can realistically help you accomplish.
Meet our Learning Lab tutors
Our tutors are trained peer tutors in a range of ATI programs. They are students who have successfully completed ATI coursework and understand the pace and expectations of classes on our campus.
