An advanced course in landscape drafting, design, and planning emphasizing practice in planning and pricing diversified landscapes. Wi Qtr. 2 cl, 2 2-hr lab. Prereq: T231 and T243, and prereq or concur: T235 and T244. Not open to students with credit for Plnt Tec T272.
An overview of the ornamental horticulture industry exploring the five major segments of the industry: greenhouse management, floriculture, nursery production, landscaping, and grounds management. 1 3-hr cl. Open to non-degree students in outreach, weekend college, and evening programs. Not open to students with credit for Plnt Tec T222.
Principles of retail garden center management including sales, marketing, advertising, personnel management, customer relations and management of product lines, stock and displays. Prereq: 2120T. Not open to students with credit for 248T.
Principles of sustainable nursery management, marketing and production operations with an emphasis on nursery facilities and practices necessary to produce field grown and container nursery stock. Prereq: 2120T; and GenBiol 1250T (125T) or Biology 1113 (113). Not open to students with credit for 241T and 242T.
The study of horticultural practices within professional landscape management for commercial and residential landscapes. A grade of C or better required to meet graduation requirements in Landscape Horticulture Management Specialization. Prereq: 2380T (223T and EngTech 222T). Not open to students with credit for 238T. This course is available for EM credit.
Advanced development of design skills: master planning, perspectives, functional usage and further development of graphical skills. Sustainable and ecological design, erosion and specialty situations included. A grade of C or better required to meet graduation requirements for Landscape Horticulture Design Specialization.
