Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements:
The Ohio State Academy program has a selective admission process in which students are considered for admission based on their academic performance. Students applying for admission to the Academy program should meet the following criteria (depending on campus):

Ohio State ATI Campus in Wooster:

  • Meeting the state of Ohio's College Readiness Indicators:
    • ACT English score of 18   
    • ACT Reading score of 22  
    • ACT Math score of 22 

OR equivalent SAT or ACCUPLACER scores as outlined below:

  • ACT

    • English - 18
    • Reading - 22
    • Math - 22
  • SAT 

    • Evidence Based Reading and Writing - 480
    • Mathematics - 530
  • Next Generation ACCUPLACER

    • Writing - 263 OR 5 on WritePlacer
    • Reading - 250
    • Math - 263
  • To schedule an ACCUPLACER test (if you have never taken the ACT, SAT, or ACCUPLACER before), contact the Ohio State ATI testing center at (330) 287-1258. Contact the Ohio State Mansfield campus at (419) 755-4133 if you have previously taken the ACT, SAT, or ACCUPLACER. Please note that we cannot accept ACCUPLACER test results from any institution except Ohio State University. 
COVID-19 Flexibility:
Some policies and timelines may be adjusted due to COVID-19. Requirements are set by ODHE. Be sure to check the website for updates.
For 2020-21 and 2021-22, students who do not have a college readiness score can be admitted if they have a minimum academic high school GPA of 3.0 and at least 2 credits of high school English and Math.

Columbus Campus Academy Admission Requirements:

  • High school curriculum and performance (class rank, GPA)
  • Standardized college admissions test: ACT or SAT
  • Accelerated curriculum (Honors, AP, IB)
  • Ability and desire to contribute to a diverse campus community
  • Leadership, co-curricular and work experiences
  • Competitiveness of high school
  • Status as a first-generation college student
  • Outstanding talent in a particular area
  • High school performance was adversely affected by physical, mental or learning environment factors
