What is the Ohio State Academy?

College Credit Plus

The Ohio State Academy Program is an opportunity for high school students to enroll in Ohio State classes through College Credit Plus. This program is a partnership between Ohio State, the high school, the student, and his or her parents.

  1. There are two options for enrolling in the Academy Program. Both options are available autumn and spring semesters at the Wooster campus (ATI).

    Option A – Students enroll in courses to receive college credit, and the students’ family is responsible for all costs. 

    Option B – Students enroll in courses to receive both college credit and high school credit, and the local school district is responsible for the cost of tuition and books. 

  2. Application Process
    Students who wish to participate in the Academy program at Ohio State ATI should first meet with the high school counselor or principal to discuss the opportunities and risks offered by the College Credit Plus Program.

  4. CCP Admission Requirements for 2026-27:
    The Ohio State Academy program has a selective admission process in which students are considered for admission based on their academic performance. Students applying for admission to the Academy program at Ohio State ATI in Wooster can be admitted based on test-optional criteria or standardized testing, as follows:

  5. Per Ohio Department of Education rules, students can only enroll in "Level One" courses during their first 15 credit hours in the CCP program. See page three of the CCP Information Sheet for additional details and the listing of "Level One" courses. or download the pdf version here.

  6. It is important for families to discuss if College Credit Plus is the right option. Students in the Ohio State Academy program will be taking "real" college classes on campus and in classrooms with older students. Faculty will have the same expectations for academic performance as they do of any Ohio State student.
