Library Instruction

Class Instruction
At the request of the instructors, librarians teach various topics to classes including:
  • how to research (finding books, articles, etc.)
  • MLA citation
  • how to avoid plagiarism

This takes place in the library computer lab if the class has 20 or fewer students, or it takes place in the regularly scheduled classroom. To set up an in-class instruction session, contact the library to discuss content and scheduling. See the reports page for the most recent survey results from students about instruction.

Creating Assignments
The library is happy to work with instructors to create research assignments. A well-constructed research assignment helps students learn effective research skills and produces better sources. Interested instructors should contac the library to revise existing assignments or create new ones.

Individual Instruction
Anytime a patron needs assistance finding information, a library staff member will be happy to provide individual assistance with searching and finding information. No appointment is necessary, just stop in Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm.
